Samsung unveils 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3

Today, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab 3, a 7-inch tablet, a slim mobile device that could be prepared to directly compete with the smaller sized tablet ranges provided by competitors Apple and Google.

The South Korean electronics company's newest tablet featuring sports a 1024x600 pixel screen,  even though probably underwhelming for the current expectations -- however is ready to support full 1080p HD play-back. The Galaxy Tab 3 is run by a dual-core 1.2Ghz processor, and it's also offered with either 8GB or 16GB of storage and 1GB of RAM.

In addition, Samsung's new device provides a microSD slot that can be expanded for up to 64GB.

This tablet works by using the most recent Android operating-system, 4.1 Jelly Bean. On top of that, the 111.1 x 188 x 9.9mm tablet features a 3-megapixel backside camera with a 1.3 megapixel front side camera system. The Wi-Fi only version weighs 302g, while the Wi-Fi/3G model might be a heavier at 306g.

Samsung's tablet will likely be offered in Wi-Fi and 3G variants. Based on the firm, the Wi-Fi enabled version will be on the market internationally from next month, while the Wi-Fi/3G version will be reaching our stores around June.

Exact pricing and availability will vary by market and will be released "gradually," Samsung reports.
